Just north of town on Route 66 lies Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie. Wilmington is home to some amazing bison as part of a restoration experiment sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service and the National Forest Foundation. Just one of the amazing things found along the route here in Illinois 🦬
