✨We are pleased to introduce Holbein Brand Ambassador Lexi Hannah, a professional artist working between Brooklyn and upstate New York whose career spans fine art, murals, and live event painting. Raised in New York’s Capital Region, Lexi earned her B.A. in Art History and Studio Art from SUNY Geneseo in 2014, where she began building her career as a commission artist and muralist.

Her work has taken her across the United States and abroad, creating large-scale murals, immersive paintings, and live event works that capture meaningful moments with a strong sense of atmosphere and narrative. Known for her painterly realism, Lexi’s subjects range from landscapes and architecture to portraits, animals, and story-driven compositions.

Early in her career, she gained attention for her distinctive drip painting technique layered over wax-based illustration, earning recognition from Instagram, Insider, and Vanity Fair. Today, her multidisciplinary practice moves seamlessly between acrylic, oil, watercolor, and spray paint, with an emphasis on large-scale works that combine technical skill with emotion and storytelling.

Alongside her studio practice, Lexi is widely recognized for her live event paintings, where she documents once-in-a-lifetime moments with both precision and artistry. Dedicated to continual growth, she remains actively engaged in study and collaboration with contemporary painters while continuing to expand her creative practice.

💥Coming soon!💥Mark your calendars…
June 5, 6 & 7 for 🎉 We’re so excited to share something special with you all today as we get ready for the 2026 Carolinas Sketch Crawl! ✍️

💚First, a huge thank you to for their incredibly generous support of this year’s event. Holbein is a world-renowned art supply company founded in 1900 in Japan, and they’re especially loved by artists for their professional-quality watercolor and gouache paints. Their paints are known for their vibrant pigmentation, smooth handling, and exceptional consistency — qualities that make them favorites for illustrators, urban sketchers, and fine artists around the world.

And now… let’s take a look at what they sent us!

🎨 Watercolor Palettes (Raffle Prizes)
Holbein donated two beautiful watercolor palettes that we’ll be raffling off during the event. These sets are packed with their signature richly pigmented colors.

If you’ve ever wanted to try Holbein paints, this raffle is going to be extra exciting!

🖌️ Gouache Palette (Raffle Prize)

They also donated one gouache palette for our raffle! Holbein’s gouache is famous for its velvety matte finish and intense opacity.

🎁 Watercolor Tubes for Every Participant

And here’s something we’re especially thrilled about — Holbein donated three tubes of their watercolor paint for every single participant! These will be tucked into your goodie bags so everyone gets to go home with professional-quality paint to experiment with.

We love that they didn’t just support the raffle winners — they made sure every artist at the Carolinas Sketch Crawl gets to try their paints.

We’re so grateful that they chose to support our creative community here in the Carolinas. Partnerships like this help us elevate the experience for everyone and make our sketch crawl even more inspiring.

HOW TO mix a darker green with Holbein Brand Ambassador 🖌️ “Sap green is a vibrant, crisp green that makes me think of matcha tea and springtime. But sometimes a darker green is needed, and the way you darken a color makes the difference between rich chroma and a dull, muddy mess.

In this example, the first stripe of color is plain Sap Green. The second stripe of color is Sap Green + Dioxazine Violet. Adding purple is a great way to darken and desaturate your green without stomping out the luminosity.

Also try Sap Green + Quinacridone Magenta + Ultramarine Blue for a different color palette but a similar result.

Using watercolor and brush.
