As a nonprofit, the Kansas Aviation Museum relies on donations as a large portion of our financial security. Today, on Giving Tuesday, would you consider making a donation to us? Your donations help fund our STEAM education programs, new exhibits that are being put on hold due to the COVID-19 shutdowns, maintaining our amazing archive, and restoring pieces of history such as the Cessna C-37 Airmaster that was once owned by Blanche Noyes, an original part of the 99's! You can either mail in a donation to:
3350 S. George Washington Blvd.
Wichita, KS 67210
Or to donate electronically, here is the link to the donation page:

Here is an article from the December 1954 "Air Facts" magazine that has the Cessna Model 620 wind tunnel model. Rumor has it that this COULD be the same model hanging in our Cessna Exhibit. I say rumor, because it was supposed to be destroyed when the when the project was canceled. Supposedly, the engineering staff hid it way and donated it to the museum when the museum opened. What do YOU think?

Because of COVID-19, we missed some events we were looking forward to this past weekend...
Note, these events weren't only us missing them, but the high school students who missed out on their prom, or the college students from all over the world that missed out on their Design Build Fly competition. We are very anxious to get back to whatever the new normal is. We are eager to host not just events, but create memories; get students back through the doors, and watch their curiosity flourish; but we mostly we miss our guests, our regulars, and of course the noises of laughing and children playing.

What is it you miss most about KAM? #MemoriesMonday

Happy 100th Anniversary of the first flight of the Laird Swallow! Originally called the Wichita Tractor, but during its test flight, it was rumored a spectator William Lassen said "She flies like a swallow, boys" therefore changing its name forever!

The Kansas Aviation Museum has a replica of the 1920 Swallow on display.

After listening to the presentation by Wichita's own Mr. Larry Hatteberg, the crowd was around him to greet him and shake his hand, this morning. It was an enjoyable and exciting opportunity this morning.
great museum with very friendly volunteers.
Hello! I'm glad I found your Page! :)
Kansas Aviation Museum https://www.kirtland.af.mil/News/Article-Display/Article/1812582/kirtland-dedicates-marker-to-fallen-b-29-aircrew/ One of your Kansas-built B-29s was remembered Thursday last (11 Apr) on the 69th anniversary of the crash of 45-21854.
KAM is a great place on FB. When looking at the pictures a few of the planes are unidentified, Olive Ann Beach was not identified and the list goes on. If you are going to post please give a little more thought to those who do not know. 🙂
Since the base isn't an option for most people, head on out to KAM and watch the landings from there!
Wouldn't it be a great boost for KAM and SE Wichita if KTA would open Oliver to the Turnpike?
