We welcome the Allied A-2 to our ramp joining our 12 other aircraft! Don't worry, it's not being punished in the corner by itself, instead it is waiting for some "friends" to join it! We have also attached an article from the Wichita Eagle dated October 21st, 2012 welcoming the aircraft back to Wichita.

Exciting changes are coming! Stay tuned!

Check This Out!!

Our incredible volunteers are working hard on restoring the first airplane owned by Air Midwest, which was this Cessna 206. The plane was owned by Gary Adamson. In addition to restoring the Cessna 206, our talented volunteers created a full sized casket to be placed in the plane when it goes out on exhibit to honor this plane and it's history.

"Air Midwest was founded in Wichita, Kansas, in May 1965 by Gary Adamson as Aviation Services Inc. Using a single Cessna 206, Adamson transported human remains for area mortuaries. Later, Aviation Services held out for charter and in 1967 began scheduled service flying between Wichita and Salina."
You can read more about this company and this plane here:

Yesterday was the 91st anniversary of the finish of the 1929 Women's Air Derby! This race started in Santa Monica, CA, stopped in various places including Wichita, and ended in Cleveland, OH. This race included pilots including Amelia Earhart, Pancho Barnes (who accidentally flew to Mexico!), Louise Thaden, and Blanche Noyes.
Fun Fact- We currently have Blanche Noyes's C-37 (not the one from this race) in our restoration shop and once finished will be on display inside the museum!

After listening to the presentation by Wichita's own Mr. Larry Hatteberg, the crowd was around him to greet him and shake his hand, this morning. It was an enjoyable and exciting opportunity this morning.
great museum with very friendly volunteers.
Hello! I'm glad I found your Page! :)
Kansas Aviation Museum https://www.kirtland.af.mil/News/Article-Display/Article/1812582/kirtland-dedicates-marker-to-fallen-b-29-aircrew/ One of your Kansas-built B-29s was remembered Thursday last (11 Apr) on the 69th anniversary of the crash of 45-21854.
KAM is a great place on FB. When looking at the pictures a few of the planes are unidentified, Olive Ann Beach was not identified and the list goes on. If you are going to post please give a little more thought to those who do not know. 🙂
Since the base isn't an option for most people, head on out to KAM and watch the landings from there!
Wouldn't it be a great boost for KAM and SE Wichita if KTA would open Oliver to the Turnpike?
