Thank you again for everything...Below is what I wrote through a group on Facebook called I Grew Up in Kansas and once it is approved...which normally does not take long... it will publish...and I think these are the pics I used

This is one of my first times to post on this group and thought it was time to visit and talk about McCormick Elementary School Museum. I went to this school back in the late 50’s/ early 60’s. I now live in Arizona, however have been on an extended driving vacation. I have been to Michigan, Kentucky, Missouri and now in Wichita, Kansas and will be heading to Montrose, Colorado for a few days before returning to Arizona.

Now to get back the reason for the post. McCormick School Museum is a MUST SEE for anyone that has or has not attended. In fact, if you like history, this is the place to go. I spent more than two hours on one day and then after leaving received a phone call that there were now 2 of my school mates there, so I went back for another hour reminiscing about the school and a multitude of memories. This experience was one I will remember for the remainder of my life and only wish that I could be here for the reunion they are having on July 5th. I also went back a third time to take a few more pictures of the outside.

This reunion could be the only chance you have to reconnect with some of your classmates. If you want information, use Google and type in McCormick School Wichita Reunion. Once on that page, you will see information about the reunion and multiple links that will give you additional information about the museum.

I would be remiss if I did not mention the two volunteers we met and who made the visit everything it could and should be…. and so much more. This was Cynthia Davie and Paul Oberg. Their willingness to go the extra mile and make it special would be an understatement. They truly care about the museum. And as most projects such as this, keeping it going forward and maintaining it has a cost. There are repairs that are needed and I am sure volunteers. I never felt pressured to make a donation nor was I asked. So, if you or anyone that you know wants to donate time, money, materials or professional services, please call them.

This historic monument should live forever, not just for Kansans, but anyone and everyone that has a question about schools and history.

TELL YOUR FRIENDS….YOUR NEIGHBORS…..YOUR RELATIVES ABOUT THIS MUSEUM….VISIT THE MUSEUM AT THEIR REUNION ON THIS SUNDAY…Enjoy this museum and help keep it alive and moving forward….for generations to come…Remember to go to the McCormick School Museum website for additional information and news.
