🖤🩶🤍Drawing Fundamentals: Charcoal class! Learn to draw with charcoal! This course will cover the basics of drawing still life objects using different types of charcoal. Students will develop an understanding of value and learn tips and techniques for shading using charcoal.

About the Instructor: Tatsuki Hakoyama is a Japanese artist who works with a broad range of content and mediums, including painting, drawing, and papermaking. He received his bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University, and his Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Kendall College of Art & Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Aside from exhibiting his work in various solo and group exhibitions, he is an Assistant Professor of Studio Arts at KCAD. 🎶☀️🌳Grace Theisen and her band are back tonight to perform original Americana music at 7pm at the Montague-Whitehall Rotary Bandshell, presented by the City of Montague. Her sound blends Americana, Blues and Folk into songs that are heartfelt, powerful, and deeply personal. Join us at the bandshell before the concert at 3:00pm for a FREE Songwriting Workshop with Grace and fellow musician Jilian Linklater.

🤩As always, we'll have a FREE kids craft at the concert sponsored by the City of Montague!

🚲For those of you planning to arrive on two wheels, there are bike racks available at the bandshell.

☕New this year: Sassy Cat Coffee and Concessions will be at bandshell selling tasty drinks each Tuesday!

Create a beautiful 5”×7” felted wool painting in this hands-on class! You’ll learn essential needle felting techniques as you build a stunning 2D fiber art piece — no experience needed. All materials are included, and optional picture frames are available to purchase for $10 so you can take your finished work straight home and hang it up.

About the Instructor:
Melissa Van Eck has been working with wool and creating 2D felted wool pieces for 4 years. It all started with a kit purchased at the Allegan Fiber Festival.
The pure enjoyment of feeling the wool work beneath her fingertips and the tactile movement of felting lead Melissa to teach herself how to work with wool. Melissa started to teach this skill two years ago and has had many successful classes.
