Whitefish Ski Heritage Museum - Home of the "Soul of Hell Roaring" Podcast The Ski Heritage Center Museum is located in the historic Saddle Club cabin adjacent to Stumptown Ice Den in Whitefish, MT.

The museum exhibits include the 10th Mountain Division, Ski Hall of Fame, Hell Roaring Ski Club and many vintage photos.

When the Big Mountain Ski Area opened for business on December 14, 1947, this "T-Bar" lift offered Flathead Valley skiers their first opportunity to ski down the mountain without first hiking up.
The T-Bar, along with an assortment of other bygone lifts from the resort's first 50 years will be featured along the HELL ROARING MEMORIAL WALKWAY being installed this week adjacent to the Ski Heritage Center.

- Item 2 - NEWSFLASH - As an added incentive for potential brick buyers to help us reach our October sales goal, EVERY BUYER WILL BE ENTERED IN A DRAWING FOR A WHITEFISH MOUNTAIN RESORT WINTER 2026-27 SEASON PASS. This includes everyone who has already purchased their brick, plus every new buyer up to the drawing to be held on November 16 when we host the award winning new documentary film "Friedl". (*)

We reached a major milestone last week with the completion of the concrete slab covering the plaza area. (see photo). Yesterday marked the start of construction of the brick paver walkway near the Museum's front door.

The primary source of funds for the Ski Heritage Center's allocation of project costs is derived solely from the sale of the engraved brick pavers (sample in photo). We hit our September sales goal of 45 bricks just a few days behind schedule on October 5. We are pushing hard to meet our October goal of 45 additional brick sales, and we need your help. Please consider becoming a permanent part of the "Hell Roaring Memorial Walkway" by purchasing a custom-engraved commemorative brick paver!

Day 1 of the Mountain Trails Park renovation!

This project has officially broken behind the Ski Heritage Center. Once complete, this new plaza and pathway will host our upcoming outdoor exhibit showcasing the historic lineage of SKI LIFT HISTORY ON BIG MOUNTAIN.
