This bald eagle was rescued right here on the shore of Lake Wahbememe yesterday! 🙏 I heard that she will be rehabbed and hopefully returned here when she's ready; however, I don't know the story.... maybe Leslie York or Mary Kinsman can fill us in :)

STORY:
I was contacted by the director at Wildside about an Eagle that was down in Constantine. There are very few Rehabbers in the state who are equipped to take these birds and SW MI is basically a dead zone. I volunteer to help secure animals and provide or find transport to qualified Rehabbers for that species.
I have captured countless different species (many crazy stories) but these guys are just a whole new level. Such an honor to assist something so powerful.
I haven’t heard what her initial triage results were but they suspected lead poisoning, and a possible injury to her right wing. She is extremely thin but was still able to fly short distances, low to the ground when I captured her.
Praying she gets to go home after she heals
