UNITED Main Cinema In Celebration of America’s 250th, the UNITED and the Babcock Smith House Museum present a FREE screening of the short-film The Patriot of Kings County about Dr. Joshua Babcock.

All are invited to attend an Ocean State Video and Weathervane Communications film screening of "Patriot of Kings County" at 6PM on September 16th with Betty-Jo Cugini and Ed Fazio answering questions about the film and the character Joshua, respectively.

At about 6:30 Betty-Jo will answer questions about making the film, and Ed will answer questions about Joshua.

This screening is free and open to the public at The United Theater at 5 Canal Street in Westerly. Free, but go on the United Theatre's website, select this event and sign up for the free tickets.

Cemetery Tour: Revisit the Granite Masters at River Bend. The volunteers of our museum have chosen some of the masterpieces in River Bend Cemetery to revisit. Each monument exemplifies the extraordinary skills of both the sculptor and the carver. If you missed the tour in July, don't miss this one.

Please note that the 'rain" date of Wednesday, August 12 will be in effect if the temperature is 85 or above, or if it is raining at 3 o'clock on Monday, August 10th.

This cemetery tour is free to our current museum members: only $5.00 for not-yet members. Our museum volunteers will be happy to see you!

The museum is now open Thursdays at 10AM for guided tours. All our buildings are nicely air conditioned!

Revisit the Granite Masters on Tuesday, July 7th at 6 PM. We have chosen some of River Bend Cemetery's most notable monuments to revisit. Most were done by Westerly's best sculptors and carvers. Learn about them and about how the monuments exemplify their skills. Please note that this event will be rescheduled to Thursday, July 9th if the temperature is above 85 degrees by 3 PM on Tuesday, July 7th. This event is free to our current museum members; only $5.00 for not-yet members. Our volunteers will be happy to see you!

Our friends at WCCU are also taking care of our parking lot too! We will be open on Saturday for our normal tours, but please use the dirt road entrance at 124 Granite St. Thanks WCCU!
