As we honor LT Michael P. Murphy and all who serve, we must also remember the physical and mental health challenges many veterans face after service.

Listen to Marcus Luttrell speak before Congress in hopes to help veterans struggling with trauma and addiction.

On the anniversary of Operation Red Wings, we unveiled Rescue 040, a retired HH-60G Pave Hawk, as the newest permanent exhibit at the LT Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum.

Formerly assigned to the 106th Rescue Wing, this aircraft stands as a powerful tribute to the Airmen who flew similar rescue missions in support of Operation Red Wings and countless combat search and rescue missions. It serves as a lasting reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment embodied by the rescue motto: That Others May Live.

The ceremony brought together veterans, active military, first responders, elected officials, and members of our community to reflect on the extraordinary heroism of those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice.

We are proud to preserve these stories and ensure future generations continue to learn from the legacy of America's heroes.

Today, we honor the heroes of Operation Red Wings on the 21st anniversary of their extraordinary sacrifice.

On June 28, 2005, 19 U.S. service members gave their lives during one of the most courageous rescue missions in modern military history. Among them was LT Michael P. Murphy, whose selfless actions and unwavering leadership embodied the very best of our nation's warriors. The courage and commitment displayed by every member of Operation Red Wings continue to inspire generations to live with honor, serve with purpose, and never quit.

Their sacrifice lives on through remembrance, education, and our shared commitment to ensuring their stories are never forgotten. Today, and every day, we honor their service, remember their sacrifice, and strive to carry their example forward.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

We remember their courage.

We remember their sacrifice.

Most importantly, we remember them by name.

Never Forgotten.
