Nearly 80 guests gathered at The Sayville Inn on Tuesday for the fifth annual Sangria Salute, supporting the LT Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum!

Our sincere thanks to organizers Rich D’Andrea of Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Homes and Chuck Cabrera of The Sayville Inn. Rich’s team welcomed and served guests, while Chuck provided all food and refreshments, with 100% of proceeds benefiting the Museum.

We also extend our gratitude our amazing Sayville LT Michael Murphy Museum volunteers and team for their continued dedication and support.

Thank you to every guest and donor. Your generosity helps preserve Naval Special Warfare history, honor those who served and share their legacy with future generations.

The LT Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum welcomed SCPD Commissioner Kevin Catalina, Deputy Commissioner Thomas Galati, NYPD Director of Intelligence and retired Navy SEAL Michael Witham, retired SCPD Detective Kevin MacNamara, Billy MacNamara, and Lt. Col. Mike Thompson, Commander of the 105 Maintenance Squadron.

Museum Director and retired Navy SEAL Chris Wyllie conducted the tour, with Gold Star father Daniel Murphy and Museum Board Vice President Bryan Mastrangelo in attendance. Daniel’s reflections on his son, Navy SEAL and Medal of Honor recipient LT Michael P. Murphy, offered a personal perspective on the legacy the museum preserves.

We thank Lt. Col. Thompson for his assistance in securing the museum’s new helicopter display and recognize the Suffolk County Police Department for its continued commitment to supporting our museum and events.

As we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, we remember the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the lasting impact of that day.

When LT Michael P. Murphy deployed overseas, he went into battle wearing a patch from FDNY Engine 53/Ladder 43 in honor of those who served and sacrificed on 9/11. It was a reminder of why he and his fellow service members were fighting and a way to ensure their sacrifice would never be forgotten.

We will never forget.
