The Black Prairie Blues Museum wants to thank the Oakhill class of 1990 for their very generous donation to the museum in memory of our dear friend and volunteer Norma Morrison Cole 💙 Her legacy lives on, a portion of the $1,165 donated will be used to set up a music lesson scholarship fund in Norma’s name. Thank you Jim Swoope for organizing this donation.

The Black Prairie Blues Museum is deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend Keith Brown, of the beloved duo Keith and Margie Brown.

Keith and Margie performed at the museum many times and were always favorites of ours and our audiences. Keith’s music, warmth, and spirit brought so much joy to our museum, and he will be greatly missed.

Our hearts and deepest sympathy go out to Margie, their family, and all who loved him. Thank you for the music and the memories, Keith. You will always be part of the Black Prairie Blues Museum family.

We are so excited to share some of the progress made possible through the generous support of the Mississippi Arts Commission! 💙

Thanks to this grant, the Black Prairie Blues Museum has been able to take on multiple projects, improvements, and renovations that are helping us create a better space for the community.

We are incredibly grateful to the Mississippi Arts Commission for believing in the mission of the Black Prairie Blues Museum and helping us continue to grow. None of this would be possible without support from organizations that recognize the importance of keeping Mississippi’s arts and cultural heritage alive. ❤️
