As we’re getting deeper into Halloween season, I have a special treat for you!
Heh heh …. Did you see what I did there? I have a special “Treat”? As in “Trick or Treat” because it’s nearly Halloween?
Did someone just make the sad-trombone sound? (Rude).
Okay, fine, that was lame. But you know what is guaranteed NEVER to be lame? An artist talk by interdisciplinary artist and educator: Mia Fabrizio!
Since moving back to the Philly area after getting her MFA at Tufts University in Boston, she has very quickly become a local legend in the art scene. If you aren’t familiar with her work, you can check out her website here: https://miafabrizio.com/
I am one hundred percent serious when I tell you, her artist talks are phenomenal. They’re engaging, informative, incredibly interesting and always entertaining. She’ll make you think and also make you question why you ever thought an artist talk would be boring. (She’s in the Art and Design Department at West Chester University, and every student of hers that I’ve met, has gushed about what a great teacher she is, even though I’ve tried, very hard, to get dirt on her).
Mia’s the opposite of boring. Like if Funfetti Cake was a human being, it would be Mia.
Why am I telling you all about Mia? Because Mia has very graciously offered to do an artist talk for me (because she knows I’d rather staple my head to the floor than stand in front of people and talk). Can you believe it? Me either. I’m stoked!
