Working with a long-term student like this is such a joy. This piece is entirely hand-built and full of movement—layered, organic leaves wrapping naturally around the form.
We’ve focused on refining their sensitivity to clay and pushing creative decisions, and it really shows here. I offered technical guidance, but the vision is all theirs.
So rewarding to watch their confidence and creativity keep growing.

A piece designed to live with your space, not just sit on the wall.
This four-panel sculpture explores balance—soft movement meeting structured geometry. Each quadrant connects through texture and flow, creating a quiet sense of continuity whether styled in a minimal living room, a warm dining space, or a calm café corner.
The muted green tones were chosen to bring in a natural, grounding energy, while the layered details catch light throughout the day—so the piece subtly shifts as your space does.
I love how versatile this work is: it can anchor a room as a focal point or blend seamlessly into a curated, modern interior. Styling it in different environments really shows how it adapts and elevates without overwhelming.
If you're looking for something that feels intentional, calming, and a little unexpected—this one was made for that.

Vietri Sul Mare in the Amalfi Coast is the heart and soul of Italian ceramics. 🍋 I researched this but what I discovered upon arriving was beyond my wildest imagination. Combining lack of tourists at a sea side town, history, delicious restaurants, ceramic artists and their stores filled with gorgeous wares with clay and mosaics decorating the entire town- it is a haven for artists, ceramicists and anyone who discovers it. Even the beach has sea ceramics mixed with the sea glass - can it get better?! Their hills are steep and they historically adopted the donkey as their lucky symbol- adorning so many doorways. (another thing to obsessively photographed 🤣) I booked a clay workshop with a lovely local potter and made my own Vietri Donkey and learned some Italian ceramics techniques. 👏🏼 Jake and his roommate Joe came for one night and I cherished every single second. This may have matched Viterbo as my favorite place in Italy - a hidden gem. 💎 🇮🇹

Florence was a sight to see - my eyes just flowed from one masterpiece to the next. As my obsession with photographing drinking fountains still persisted- I then found I had to photograph every Wine Window we could find (yep we searched 🤣). No ancient ruins in this house - can’t be greedy I guess- But I loved our balcony where you feel like everyone is essentially in community - just conversing balcony to balcony. My travel companions head out from here. Then solo to Vietri Sul Mare on the Amalfi Coast. 🤍 🇮🇹

Jake’s home is Viterbo—one of the oldest preserved medieval cities, remarkably untouched and never rebuilt. It’s where the papal conclave first took shape, and it feels exactly how you’d imagine—timeless, cinematic, and surreal.
Our “home away from home” was just as incredible: an ancient convent turned olive oil mill, complete with two original oil wells. In the courtyard—orange trees and Rocco, the 96-year-old tortoise 🐢.
Jake showed us around his favorite spots, and we soaked it all in. Next up: Firenze 🇮🇹🤍

Jake hit the books while Abbey, Dave, and I explored Pompeii. So grateful for an amazing guide through acres of history, art, and profound human loss. What struck me most was how similar life was—food spots, shops, homes, gathering spaces—carpe diem in full effect. Seeing it in person made it real: we’re all connected, across time. You can feel the life that filled this place before tragedy. ⛰️🇮🇹 Next stop: Viterbo 🤍

Going to visit Jake - to see where he lives/studies - started in Rome. The home we stayed in had an ancient Roman column built into it because ruins are all over and they just build around them. 😳 I apparently have an obsession with taking photos of every ancient drinking water fountain. 🤷‍♀️ I hoped I’d see these places someday- I dreamt it would be with my family, I couldn’t have imagined it any better. Next stop Pompeii. 🇮🇹

The ceramics journey 🏺 has many steps—and it takes time. Each part has its own flow 🌀, moving you closer to the final creation. But it’s the sum of all those moments, and the energy 🤍 poured into every stage, that truly gives a piece its life. 🖼️ Wall sculpture 17” x 17”-Dimension
