The moon has been full and the energy is high! Last week on my morning walk there was a tussle in the branches.. A red tailed hawk was arguing with the crows or was it the other way around? Made for a great print!

The trail walk last night was incredible. With the snow from the morning storm ,the dark sky, and the moonlight shining down, it was pretty magical..one of those moments that makes you stop and take it in.

I’ve been hearing the barred owls at night again—their call that sounds like “who cooks for you?” echoing through the trees. Hard to believe that just last spring, they were babies up in the broken tree, getting ready to fledge.

They’re such beautiful birds, even if they do hang around in the summer eyeing up the songbirds at my feeder.Grrr.

My backyard's got two resident crows that are a constant source of amusement for me. They're always conversing and bickering - it's like they're miniature versions of us. While I'm not a fan of theirs when they're swiping Songbird eggs in the Spring, I've totally forgiven them by Winter. They're a lot like us, but maybe even a bit more intelligent.
