Join us for our annual Thanksgiving Dinner! 🍽️
We’ll gather for a great meal, good company, and an exciting update on what’s ahead. We’ll also be unveiling the architect’s renderings for the museum and doctor’s office project. Come get a sneak peak at what’s in the works!

~Nov. 14, 6:00 pm, at the Mountain Marketplace Mission.

It takes a village to raise children, and it takes a community working together to preserve their history.

We need a little help from our friends. Contact Jimmy Utt to make a donation.

📣Semi-long post but IMPORTANT info‼️
We know it's been a while, and for that we are sorry. However, we are excited to share some of the encouraging developments at the Webster County Historical Society!

An architect recently visited and confirmed that both the Dr. John McLaughlin house, which serves as our museum in Webster Springs, is structurally sound, and his doctor's office is fully salvageable. It was some welcome news for our plans to grow the museum site, create a couple of local jobs, and raise some better awareness of Webster County’s history.

Before we can move forward, we need some help to get through the winter. Some urgent work needs to be done: cleaning gutters, removing a tree, and tarping the doctor’s office roof.

Now is an exciting time to get involved with the Historical Society and help preserve the history we’re so proud of.

Our funds are critically low. So this is our plea, if you can lend a hand, donate materials, or offer support, please message us. If you can’t help directly, please SHARE THIS POST so it reaches others who can!
We also have some limited-edition historical society shirts available for purchase! $20 each

This has certainly been an unusual Memorial Day weekend in Webster County with no roar of splitting wood, no Bulldogs milling around sharing memories of Cowen High School. However, we still pause to remember the sacrifice of those who gave so much so that we may enjoy our freedom, even if having to curtail some for the current pandemic. 🇺🇸😔
