The Wilson Brewer Park Foundation would like to thank the grant committee and the City of Webster City for the HMTB grant of $14,433. According to park board chairman, Ryan Rupiper, the grant will pay for an interpretative sign in front of each building that tells its history. A QR code on each sign enables visitors to see or hear the message on their smart phone, even when the museum is closed. The rest of the funds will be used to update the shades in the depot that protect the artifacts from the sun!

Humanities Iowa Presenter O.J. Fargo will take us back to 1865 as he presents a first person interactive dialogue: "Just Before the Battle, Mother...A Visit From A Civil War Soldier" at the Mulberry Center Church on Saturday, September 19th, 2026 at 1:00pm. O.J. Fargo will be dressed in authentic Union Army clothing and accouterments. Per Mr. Fargo: "History is not a cut and dried science and is open to many opinions and interpretations. Seeing people of all ages gathering facts then applying their own experience to draw their own conclusions is an exciting concept to me. Research says that the closer the topic is to learners of any age, mentally or physically, and the more actively involved they are in their own learning, the more they will learn and the more excited they will become." FREE EVENT DONATIONS ARE APPRECIATED
