It's time for another... Trivia Tuesday!

The F-117 was designed to be difficult for what specific technology to detect?

The answer is radar!

The F-117 Nighthawk was designed as a stealth aircraft, using its unusual, angular shape to help reflect radar waves away while special radar-absorbing materials helped to further reduce its radar signature.

Did you get the answer right?

🚀 🔭 A NEW ERA OF DISCOVERY LAUNCHES SUNDAY!

Set your alarms, space fans!

NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is scheduled to launch Sunday, August 30 at 6:26 a.m. CT aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy from Kennedy Space Center.

Roman is NASA’s next-generation space observatory—and it is about to give us an entirely new way to look at the universe.

Named for Dr. Nancy Grace Roman, NASA’s first Chief of Astronomy and the “Mother of Hubble,” Roman will have a field of view at least 100 times larger than Hubble’s, allowing scientists to survey enormous areas of the cosmos while capturing incredible detail.

Its mission will help scientists study planets beyond our solar system, map billions of galaxies, investigate dark matter and dark energy, and test technology designed to directly image planets around other stars.

At the Stafford Air & Space Museum, we have the privilege of preserving the stories of the explorers, engineers and missions that brought us to where we are today. But space exploration isn’t only about looking back at history—it’s about watching the next chapter happen in real time.

Sunday morning, we get to watch one of those chapters begin.

🚀 Liftoff: Sunday, August 30 | 6:26 a.m. CT
📺 NASA coverage begins at 5:20 a.m. CT

Who’s setting their alarm to watch Roman head to space?

We are the children of explorers; maintain the legacy.
