Twigs and Leaves Gallery is located in the heart of historic downtown Waynesville, a charming, small town situated in the mountains of Western North Carolina a few m

iles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Asheville. Our gallery features nature-related art and fine crafts primarily from Southern Appalachia but includes a select number of American handcrafting artists from other regions, with the works of more than 120 emerging and established artists. The gallery offers pottery and clay art, rustic and finished furniture, locally made jewelry, landscape photographs and paintings as well as quilted wall hangings, stained glass and metal fabrications. Local artists include pottery by Kaaren Stoner, Michael Lalone, and Megan Bernard; Oil painters Jack Stern, Sarah Sneeden and Suzanne Barrett Justis; Jewelry by Bob and Lucy Gibson / Lucid Designs and Becky Smith; and furniture by Mark Minus and Anne Tansey. All of this is beautifully displayed in a comfortable setting that encourages leisurely shopping. We hope you will visit us and take home a memory reflecting the breathtaking Smoky Mountains ~ a piece of art that echoes the wonder of nature.

A good time was had by all at last night at Waynesville First Friday! 🎶🍷 🖼️

If you are interested in exploring the many techniques used in painting watercolors, this is the class for you!! 🎨🖌

During this workshop, we will practice several watercolor samples, experimenting with techniques including; glazing, wet in wet, lost and found edges, spattering, resist and many more. We will also play with fun objects such as cards, crayons, salt and straws.

At the end of class, you will walk away with a wealth of creative skills to apply to future paintings, your portfolio of sample painting swatches and a few fun tools to enhance your watercolor experience.

So many people loved this class with that we have decided to host it again!

Cost: $145 all supplies included
When: June 19th | 10:30-4pm (bring a lunch or snack for break)
Location: Lower level of the gallery

Claire will also be hosting a Travel Sketching with Watercolors class July 25th, where you will recieve a journal, paints, and other supplies to keep!
