Then & Now at 37-47 West Main Street with Mainstreet Waynesboro, Inc.

The Washington Hotel (left) and Acme Market are featured in this 1940 photo. The hotel was demolished and replaced by McCrorys, and now the left side of the building is Michael Benedict Construction and Moonlight & Lace Bo***ir. A second story was added to the Acme Market and the building is now the location of James and Jess House of Goods.

Then & Now at 15 West Main Street with Mainstreet Waynesboro, Inc.

In 1909, Edgar & W.E. Washabaugh Ci**rs had a shop in the downstairs of the Hotel Werner. Part of the hotel was demolished for the construction of the First National Bank in 1921 (Now M&T Bank). The Washabaugh store was located in the part of the hotel that is now the addition to the bank where the Mainstreet Waynesboro office is located.
