This piece has been on display at Gallery 50 in Waynesboro for the last year. I brought it home yesterday and find I am liking it more than I did. That's a good sign. I may submit this to a show or two in the future.

Looking more and more like a studio! Who knew I had so many tools ;-) They're coming out of the woodwork . . . or more accurately . . . out of storage. Stay tuned.

A few weeks ago, I promised a big announcement. Well, your patience has been rewarded. πŸ˜„πŸ˜ I have moved my art studio into a new "secret" location! This is the largest dedicated studio I have enjoyed . . . ever, and I couldn't be more excited. πŸ₯° The reason it's a "secret?" This will be my studio for making work, and not open to the public on a regular basis. Occasional open houses are planned for sometime in the future. Look for these shelves to be FULL of pots by then.

I use both my small and large coffeepot templates as a canvas for trying out different surfaces, handles, pulls, spouts, and glazes. This is the first to employ the dimpled surface, and I'm happy with the way the glaze breaks over the pits.

Fresh out of the kiln: The latest teapot/coffeepot shaped work. I'm shifting from the scratched surfaces to a distressed style. And, yes, it takes a long time to painstakingly . . . but randomly . . . pound dimples onto the surface. I think the distressed look adds to the appearance of being dug up out of a ruin somewhere.

Sometimes, a little pot comes out of the kiln and captures my heart. When I saw the chip out of this piece after it came back from the bisque firing, I almost tossed it in the trash. Instead, I glazed it anyway and now I LOVE the little blemish. You will be seeing more of this glaze in the future!

Nothing better than traveling to a wonderful Suze Lindsay https://www.forkmountainpottery.com workshop at Paloma Clay Studio in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. I learned totally new techniques, and met amazing people. These pots are still green, so I couldn't bring them home. The "hand" tray did not make the cut, so the clay was recycled to be used again. The others will be bisque fired, and stay in Mexico until I return next year.
