Well . . . it seems I'm not the only one who likes this piece. It was just accepted into the Maryland Federation of Art Off the Wall exhibit at the Maryland Hall's Earl Gallery!

This piece has been on display at Gallery 50 in Waynesboro for the last year. I brought it home yesterday and find I am liking it more than I did. That's a good sign. I may submit this to a show or two in the future.

Looking more and more like a studio! Who knew I had so many tools ;-) They're coming out of the woodwork . . . or more accurately . . . out of storage. Stay tuned.

A few weeks ago, I promised a big announcement. Well, your patience has been rewarded. 😄😁 I have moved my art studio into a new "secret" location! This is the largest dedicated studio I have enjoyed . . . ever, and I couldn't be more excited. 🥰 The reason it's a "secret?" This will be my studio for making work, and not open to the public on a regular basis. Occasional open houses are planned for sometime in the future. Look for these shelves to be FULL of pots by then.

I use both my small and large coffeepot templates as a canvas for trying out different surfaces, handles, pulls, spouts, and glazes. This is the first to employ the dimpled surface, and I'm happy with the way the glaze breaks over the pits.

Hot off the presses!! This piece won the Conley Award for 3D Art at the Winter Member Show of the Maryland Federation of Art! You can visit it in person at the Circle Gallery in Annapolis or on the exhibition's website. Oh, yeah!!

Fresh out of the kiln: The latest teapot/coffeepot shaped work. I'm shifting from the scratched surfaces to a distressed style. And, yes, it takes a long time to painstakingly . . . but randomly . . . pound dimples onto the surface. I think the distressed look adds to the appearance of being dug up out of a ruin somewhere.
