I couldn't get over how free I felt while making it, and h

ow much I knew this was a gift God gave me. Life got busy after graduating with becoming a Pre-K teacher, so I really didn't have time for a hobby. My husband was the one who kept asking me when I wanted to start painting again. A friend of mine gave me a blank canvas, a set of brushes, and a set of acrylics a few years back. The rest is history, as they say.

🥰 My Why: Painting is my outlet and a way I can be totally unplugged from the world. It's the weirdest thing. I am a pretty OCD in real life. My art is the complete opposite, which is why I think I feel so free. I have no idea where this will take me, but I am so thankful to be painting again. My house is filled with these amazing pieces I have been so blessed to make. If I sell pieces, then awesome! If not, then that's okay too. This journey is one I never want to end, even though I will run out of space in my house sooner or later. LOL! Original art: I currently price my original art at $1 per square inch plus supplies (e.g. canvas, paints, tools, etc.). For example, an 18 x 18 painting would be $324 plus cost of supplies. I varnish every piece of work with three to four coats of varnish. *Prices are subject to change with increased demand.* Local pick-up is preferred, especially on large paintings. Shipping will be paid by customer.

😭🖤 Remember how I was saying if you varnish a piece too soon it gets destroyed? Well, this is exactly what happened to this beautiful piece. I got impatient and varnished too soon. Since the acrylic didn't have time to dry, it came out very cloudy and was ruined. I'm so glad I snapped some pictures of it so that I could make it into a print! 🤍 Now you or I can order it and still enjoy it.

😍👩‍🎨I finally got around to varnishing the biggest acrylic painting I've ever done. I put three coats of varnish on her, and she's sooooo shiny!!

Why varnish?
✅ It protects the acrylic paint from fading and turning colors from UV rays.
✅ It makes it somewhat waterproof. You cannot dump a bunch of water on it, but it will repel some water.
✅ It makes the colors POP and look more vibrant than without varnish.
✅ I do three layers of varnish to ensure every square inch is protected and create a nice glossy finish.
✅ I offer this FREE with an original piece!

Risks of varnish?
❌ If the piece isn't fully dry the acrylics will smear really bad. I once ruined an abstract from varnishing too soon. 😭Never again! Wait at least 6 months to varnish!
❌ It'll look cloudy and ruin the art if you don't apply the varnish properly (e.g. overbrushing).
