Join us at Pajaro Valley Arts for a Community Celebration & reception for this year’s Mi Casa es Tu Casa: Caminos de Recuerdo / Paths of Remembrance, curated by Nessa Ledesma.

Spend the afternoon enjoying art, culture, remembrance, and community, with live performances by White Hawk Indian Council, Mariachi Ensamble, and Estrellas de Esperanza, a Catrinx Contest, car show & trunk altars, art activities, Arte del Corazón art vendors, food trucks including My Mom’s Mole and Humble Sebi, and more!

Memoria Antigua – Traditional Ofrenda Workshop
Saturday, October 17 | 1–3 PM
Pajaro Valley Arts | 280 Main Street, Watsonville

Join Mayan woman and cultural bearer Litzia Chalchicihuatl Sierra, originally from Yucatán, Mexico, for a meaningful workshop exploring the traditions, symbolism, and personal connections behind Día de los Mu***os ofrendas.

Together, we’ll create a community ofrenda honoring memory, family, and the connections between generations. Participants are invited to bring a small meaningful item, photograph, or memento to place on the altar in honor or remembrance of a loved one.

🍞 Mini Food Sculptures Workshop
Led by Nessa Ledesma

FREE | All Ages Welcome

What food reminds you of home? 🍊🌽🍞

Join local artist and curator Nessa Ledesma to create miniature versions of your favorite foods using migajón, a traditional Mexican craft often used to decorate ofrendas and preserve cherished memories.

In this hands-on workshop, Nessa will share a technique passed down by her grandmother, teaching participants how to shape and create their own miniature food sculptures for ofrendas or simply to celebrate the foods and memories that are meaningful to them.
Migajón is made from a homemade dough similar to cold porcelain that air-dries into a hard, smooth, and durable finish, allowing these little creations to last for years.

Come create, connect, and celebrate the memories carried through the foods we love!

Your ideas will directly shape the exhibition and give members a real voice in the work we create together. This is your gallery and your community, so tell us where to take it next.
