Watertown History Museum Official page for the Watertown History Museum, formerly the Watertown Historical Society We are an independent nonprofit organization.

Watertown History Museum collects, preserves and shares the history of Watertown and Oakville. Our ever-growing collection of artifacts, photographs and documents is available for free public viewing at 401 Main Street. We try to respond to all inquiries - from around the corner and around the country. Besides manuscripts, books, and artifacts we have digital files of the Town Times newspaper from 1947 to 2000 as well as Watertown High School yearbooks, which are available online through our website. We also have a selection of Connecticut state and local histories, and family genealogies.

The Watertown Oakville Chamber is proud to present this year's Unsung Hero Award to the Watertown History Museum!

Founded in 1945 as the Watertown Historical Society, the museum preserves documents and artifacts that tell the story of Watertown and Oakville, including their manufacturing, farming, military and cultural history. Through its collections and programs, the museum helps residents and visitors connect with the community’s past. It is located at 401 Main Street.

The award will be presented during the Chamber's 60th Annual Meeting & Awards Dinner on Wednesday, November 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grand Oak Villa.
