Kress Packing Company does a good deal of custom killing for individuals as well as other meat processors. This shows Armin Kuhlow and Elmer Schaller in the cooler with some carcasses shrouded and ready for shipment. Mr. Schaller has been with this local meat concern for 13 years.
Records show that about 150 head of cattle and about 40o hogs are slaughtered per week at the local Kress plant.
About nintey five persons are regularly employed by the Kress Packing Company for a total annual payroll of about $500,000.00. Such a figure is a substantial boost to the community’s economy.

The morning and afternoon ball games were played in this area and the vaudeville attractions, afternoon and evening, and the evening band concert, all took place on the platform or in the area shown.
