This is the final weekend to see “Kevin MacDonald: A Recollection” at Terzo Piano Gallery + Books! 12-5 Saturday and Sunday. The show will close on Thursday, 6/30.

Terzo Piano is at 1515 14th St NW between P and Q Streets, on the third floor.

Come! The show is gorgeous and I guarantee there’s work you haven’t seen, and new connections to be made. Kevin was one of the area’s finest and most beloved artists — it’s useful to remember his enduring imagination and talent in these stressful times.

Join us in the Kevin MacDonald show at Terzo Piano this Sunday, 2-5, where we'll be soaking in *music* including some of Kevin's favorites, like Patti Smith! We're calling this a Listening Party, and hoping it will a nice, low key shared experience -- a cross between watching a band play and walking in the park.

Free, no reservations required. Shown: Kevin MacDonald, sketch of Patti Smith as prep for "Water Dreaming," immersive installation at the first Art-O-Matic (in the abandoned "Manhattan Laundry" building) in 1999.

Terzo Piano is open Saturday and Sunday 12-5 this weekend, at 1515 14th Street, NW, Third Floor, Washington DC 20005.

We’re open today and tomorrow, 12-5, to share works selected from the long career of Kevin MacDonald. One of the DMV’s favorite artists, MacDonald created work with a range of themes, from meditative interiors and still life, to explorations of the history and identity of the American suburb, to interpretations of mythology.

This beautiful exhibition is open this weekend, no appointment required. Today’s feature is “Sasuke,” a gorgeous monograph of black and white photos by Japanese photographer Masahisa Fukase, of his two cats. This is a hefty, sumptuous book with 115 duotone images that showcase the personality, playful and vicious, of these two kittens as they grow up. There’s nothing cliche or sentimental about the photos, taken in the 1970s and 80s.
