is a nonprofit devoted to teaching the techniques and history of the material ecclesiastical arts that have been cultivated in the Byzantine world and its religious and cultural commonwealth (e.g., Greece, Russia, the Balkans, the south of Italy, Georgia)—arts that have been generally neglected and poorly understood in modern North America. The purpose of the school is to teach the techniques, his

tory, and theology that underlie each medium; to create and display new art made in each medium; and to create a vibrant center for those interested—artist and non-artist alike—to learn about, grow in or master the practice and theory of the traditional ecclesiastical material arts of the Eastern Orthodox world. This school has the blessing of Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York (ROCOR).
