Sometimes with framing, it is better to keep the frame simple, especially in this situation where they are hanging as a set (both Hekla Volcanic Mountain in Iceland). The Nordic Oak frames are Scandinavian in color and style and since we didn't use a mat, we used a spacer to keep the pastels and museum glass separate.

Our customer wanted something fun on their egg print and to coordinate with another piece in the kitchen. We were able to create a special one-of-a-kind mat from decorative paper that the customer found. This could be done with wrapping paper, sheet music or any special paper product that can be mounted.

I thought I'd share a fun project we did recently for a local cross stitcher. We were trying to complement a piece she completed years ago. It was a difficult piece for her to stitch and included metallic threads. The framing includes a fillet on the frame, a suede mat on top with a metallic mat on the bottom, with a special cut that we created. We used museum glass to cut down glare and preserve the colors.

Well, we will try this again!! I posted Tuesday but it never appeared anywhere, including my own page. Go figure! I wanted to thank Judy LaTorre, Shirley Mersky, and Monica Etz for their hard work on Tuesday helping me to prepare the mailing for our upcoming Annual Holiday Small Works Show opening November 3. If you drive by today, you will notice it looks a little different here. Hopefully parking will be a little easier, especially in the wintertime. For the rest of the week, please park across the street as the sign out front indicates. If you tried to stop by yesterday, I apologize for the disruption with all the trucks and heavy equipment around. Even though I was open, I realize it was probably hard to figure out where to park.
