MCGHS has served our county in preserving the history of the area and its people since 1987 through heritage tourism staffed by volunteers.

Before it was a destination, it was a dot on a map. This 1940s look at Morgan County is one of the many pieces of history we get to preserve at Brushy Mountain.

The Tennessee Historical Commission awarded 28 matching grants for more than $1.1 million through the Federal Historic Preservation Fund to various organizations and local governments across the state.

Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Morgan and Sevier counties, along with the East Tennessee Development District, were among those awarded in the region.
