We thoroughly enjoyed a visit from members of the Debnam-Davis family reunion group, who toured the museum along with other local sites this morning. Hailing from various points to the north, including NJ, Maryland and DC, our visitors expressed enthusiasm about the history of Plummer Hook & Ladder Co. and the fire apparatus and artifacts on display, and marked their calendars to return for our Grand Opening on Saturday, Oct. 10.

Thank you to Jenny Franklin and Jereann King Johnson of the Heritage Quilters Giving Circle, Inc. for including us on the tour!

This 19th-century hand hose reel holds a special place in the entrance of our museum after being moved into place today. Pulled by Plummer Hook & Ladder Co. firefighters to connect hose to a water source for fighting fires, this hose reel is one of two on display in the museum, which will host a Grand Opening on Saturday, October 10.

We continue to collect artifacts, documents, and photographs related to the Plummer Hook & Ladder Co. and the former Warrenton (town) Fire Department, including individual pictures of fire department members for display. (All photos are scanned and returned to their owners if requested.) Please reach out to us here or call 252-257-0633.
