Littleton Brothers This site is to tell the story of the six (6) Littleton brother, from Toolesboro, IA (Louisa County) who ALL gave their lives during the Civil War. Wars.

Toolesboro, in Louisa County Iowa, was the home of six brothers who were all lost to the Civil War. The largest loss of life known from any one immediate family in the history of all U.S. A story lost to time due to the pre-war deaths of their early pioneer parents who also left four daughters to mourn. The story was recently found by members of the Louisa County HIstorical Society almost providentially on this the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.
