OZtoberFest 2026 was truly one for the history books. Wamego unveiled a towering 15-foot Toto statue, the OZ Museum welcomed several new pieces to its displays, and the skies cooperated with weather that was downright OZ-some. A celebration this good only comes around once a year, so mark your calendars for next October!

HEY, YOU KANSANS . . . OR THOSE IN THE VICINITY:
Once again -- thanks to Clint Stueve, his magical minions, the OZ Museum, the Columbian Theatre, Bryan Scruggs, and Kristen and all at The Oz Winery (and IN Wamego, KS) this Friday evening . . . I'm happy to share that I once again get to be a proud and grateful participant in OZTOBERFEST at that time.

For something like two decades, I've joined the annual joy-OZ-ness there, often in person and sometimes by virtual sorcery. (Those in the Ozzy "know" will understand the latter approach -- as well as its 21st Century tie-in to the concept of Ozma's Magic Picture. 😄)

As may be seen by the adwork here, I'll be "live" this Friday, October 2nd; the party at The OZ Winery goes from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. CDT, and for any and all friends in the neighborhood, neighboring states, or who can trundle into town, please join us. I "appear" live on-screen at 7 p.m. CDT, to "confer, converse, and otherwise hobnob with my fellow wizards." 😍

All the information is included in the beautifully-worded art herewith, and my sincere appreciation to whoever assembled it. (I DID have to run to the dictionary myself to translate "colloquy' . . . 😮). For clarity's sake, I want to emphasize that the presentation isn't accessible unless you're actually in (or Ozzily propped up at!) the Winery. But I wanted to share fhe information for those who ARE nearby.

Please pop in with your Oz and/or Judy questions -- and we'll try to make an entertaining, gleeful, fun, funny and (in places!) irreverent time of it all. 😁

Deadline Extended!

The deadline for the Patchwork Fabric Arts Contest have been extended. Submit your entries at the Columbian Theatre all this week, including first thing on Saturday morning!

We're about to unveil something that has never been on public display before: the original prototype of the Cowardly Lion's Courage Medal from the 1939 MGM classic. This is the REAL deal. Crafted by the Studio Art Metal Shop at Western Costume Company, this prototype is the very piece that the actual film prop medals were cast from. It lived inside the MGM archive for decades, survived the famous 1970 MGM bankruptcy sale, and has finally found its forever home right here at the OZ Museum.

We're officially adding it to our permanent collection, and you get to be there when it happens. 🎉

Join us for the grand unveiling at 10:30am on October 3rd as part of OZtoberfest in downtown Wamego, KS. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to stand face to face with a genuine piece of Hollywood and Wizard of OZ history.
