Can cells engineer their own genetic changes?

In the latest episode of the Creation Matters podcast, Dr. Fred Groves joins us to discuss natural genetic engineering, a developing idea among evolutionary scientists. How does this model differ from traditional Darwinian evolution, and what questions does it raise when viewed from a biblical worldview?

We have a special addition at the Creation Experience Museum! We are happy to introduce Pearl, our new bearded dragon.

Pearl is a rare kind of bearded dragon lizard called a Witblits, which means she is albino and has no patterns on her scales.
She is three years old, full of energy, and has already settled in well at her new home here at the museum. Our guests love her, and she is such a delight to all who meet her!

If you would like to see Pearl up close, come visit our museum! Stay for a tour to learn more about how God designed amazing creatures like her!

We are saddened to announce that our beloved bearded dragon, Cammie, passed away on the night of July 2nd, 2026. For over nine years, Cammie was a cherished part of the Creation Experience Museum, bringing joy to thousands of kids and accompanying our team as we shared the wonders of God’s creation.
But before she became a part of our ministry, her journey began at a pet store on Campbell Avenue, which inspired the name Cammie. She was only a few weeks old and so tiny she could fit on your pinky finger! As she grew older, she became as big as an adult’s forearm and developed the beautiful yellow coloration characteristic of a “Fancy Bearded Dragon.”
Cammie loved sunbathing in her hammock and finding high places, often hanging out on the shoulders, or even the heads, of our team members. Not only that, but she also accompanied our team to speaking events and presentations as we shared Creation and the Gospel, earning her the nickname “Missionary Lizard.”
Cammie lived a very pampered life over the last nine years, and we will all miss her dearly.

Did you know the horseshoe crab has ten eyes?

Its two largest eyes are compound eyes, each containing more than 1,000 photoreceptors each. Five additional eyes are located on top of its prosoma, and two more are found underneath its body near the mouth. What is commonly called its tenth “eye” is actually a series of light-sensitive organs along its tail that helps keep its internal clock synchronized with cycles of light and darkness.

But there’s much more to this fascinating creature than its ten eyes. Not only can horseshoe crabs live for more than 20 years, but they also have blue blood that plays an important role in modern medicine. Their blood is blue because it contains a copper-based protein. For decades, a test made from their blood has helped scientists check vaccines, injectable medicines, and medical devices for dangerous contamination.

The horseshoe crab’s remarkable design and unique abilities remind us that even the smallest details serve a purpose. What a wonderful Creator we serve!

Did you know the Greenland shark is the longest-lived vertebrate known to man? Researchers estimate that some may live for nearly 400 years, although their exact ages are difficult to determine.
Growing less than half an inch per year, these remarkable sharks move slowly through the cold waters in the Arctic and North Atlantic. Their unusual features and incredible longevity give us another glimpse of the variety and wonder God placed within His creation.
