Did you know that WWII had an impact on bathing suit fashion? In our "Letters to Tunie" exhibit, you can read more about the effect of the war on the design of 2-piece bathing suits.

While working in Greenville, Adielene "Tunie" Carter Bissell of Mountain Rest did some modeling for local advertisers. Her father was not too happy about this ad showing her in a two-piece bathing suit.

What a beautiful day for Scout Troop 226 to re-mulch and trim around the museum! We appreciate the hard work to spruce things up!

Chief Warrant Officer 5 Eric Slover, U.S. Army, received the Medal of Honor tonight.

On January 3, 2026, he flew into Venezuelan territory under the cover of darkness. Despite multiple injuries and continued gunfire, he expertly piloted his helicopter to the landing zone—keeping everyone onboard safe and ensuring the successful completion of the mission.

The National Medal of Honor Museum will preserve and share his story so the values reflected in his service can continue to inspire future generations.
