Drop In Tours Tuesdays and Thursdays - 10 am to 2 pm. Call us for available dates and times! Andrew Peterson started his farm in the 1850s. Among other things, he grew: apples, plums, cherries, grapes, and traditional crops. Most well known for his apples, Peterson's farm became one of the first University of MN experimental research stations, precursors to today's Horticultural Research Center at the MN Landscape Arboretum. Peterson favored Russian Astrakhan apples, and hosted horticulturists from across the country at his farm. He also kept a daily journal from 1855-1898, which provides a detailed account of daily farm life. This journal was used as the basis of the Emigrants series of books, by Swedish novelist, Vilhelm Moberg.

Join us tomorrow, Saturday, October 17th at 11am to hear a presentation from Jan Hermelin, the president of the Swedish Andrew Peterson Society. Come learn what the society does and about Jan's new book set to debut in English soon on Apple books! If you enjoy learning about how groups use historical figures to connect to their history or are big fans of Vilhelm Moberg's Emigrant book series, then you won't want to miss this!

There's still pumpkins and we're here today, October 6th, until 2pm! Feel free to come out and get a pumpkin or two (or more) for the family!

We still have pumpkins and we're back out at the farm today, October 6th until 2pm. The pumpkins are free to anyone who'd like to come get a few! Feel free to knock on the farmhouse door to let us know you're here! If there are still some left over after today, we'll run again on Thursday this week, so check back later to find that announcement!

There's just too much rain for Fall on the Farm this year we're sorry to say! As much as we'd like to see you all out at the farm, we hope you have a lovely, warm day indoors instead and look forward to our event next year!

We're sorry folks, but it looks like the weather did not want to cooperate. We have more rain in the forecast than we can ask you and our volunteers to sit through. Fall on the Farm has been rained out for this year. We hope that we'll see you next year, on a nicer day.

The museum will be open our regular Saturday hours instead today.
