Couple of us had the opportunity to investigate this on an invite.
I will say it’s a definitely an interesting place .
One thing I’ll share . 2 of us in a room that was really dark . A train came by and a of what I’ll describe a ball of lightning lit up in the upper corner of the room . The tracks are close to the building . Was it paranormal or just something like static electricity from the train . It only happened once so I can’t really say what it was

Quick update. The place we got asked to tour tonight for an investigation was amazing. I can’t wait till our investigation in March to share with everyone.
We are on the second adventure of the day doing a residential. This home has been in the family little more than a 100 years. So much interesting things the family did on this property.
We actually got some good EVPs we shared with the owner so far . They got excited over that . We got another area to explore and a small session with the family and going to wrap this up shortly. What a great paranormal night .

We have a packed schedule ahead of us today. We will be touring a location that is set to undergo investigations later on. To my knowledge, only one other team has investigated this site. We are eager to conduct our investigation as soon as possible. This will be followed by a residential investigation. Moreover, we are anticipating the possibility of another home investigation. 👻

REASONS GIVEN FOR DEMOLITION OF THE JAIL

1. It is falling apart and in bad shape. True, there are repair needs. Primarily the roof and points where water leaks in, but all seem repairable and to quote Indiana Landmarks "It's overall in better shape than most buildings in town. The now saved Fowler Theatre was worse."

2. There's concern about the mold. Yes, there is mold, but I don't feel it is the boogeyman everyone thinks it is. I and a few others have spent hundreds of hours per year over the past 5 years doing ghost hunts. I have medically diagnosed mold allergies and I have not have had any issues. Per the last visit with Landmarks, the initial vibe is that it can be cleaned.

3. We want the land. It was shared at the last meeting that they want the land to build a storage shed on and some use for K9's. In the town of Fowler, there are plenty of unoccupied buildings with no historical significance and I hope one of those could be identified so history can be preserved. They lack proximity, but they also lack any history tied to the county and town like that of the jail.

4. A minor topic came up around utilities and who will pay for them. I recommend turning off all utilities except electrical and we will pay for the electrical from the ghost hunt tours. We can cover those costs.

5. What will be done with the building. Again, we will continue to do tours and ghost hunts and with additional volunteers could expand those opportunities.

Hopefully as I have shared before, a mutually beneficial solution can be found to meet the needs of the county while preserving a key part of our history.

I look forward to a review of the demolition bids, the assessment of the building and the costs to repair and see what is more cost effective. If it costs the same to demo as to save, then I am hoping historical significance takes priority otherwise people will have to settle for the historic Fowler shed.
