The Volin Fire Tax District vote took place today at the Town Hall after many years of planning and was unanimously approved.

This will implement a minimal tax levy for everyone in the Volin District, excluding the Town of Volin (the Town of Volin pays the fire dept for the citizens of Volin). The purpose of this levy is to ensure the continued functioning of our local fire department. If we couldn't support the Volin Fire Dept with this tax, we'd risk losing our local service, and the Yankton Fire Dept would have to step in, potentially leading to longer response times and a higher mandated tax levy. While Yankton Fire Dept does a commendable job, maintaining our local fire department is crucial for swift responses and safety within our community.

Sadly, animals are abused by being left outside, neglected in the scorching heat sometimes without water .
If this happens in our community, don't hesitate to call the humane society & at least have it investigated.

The Volin community is excited to welcome Preston Crissey for a Meet & Greet.
We believe he has some great idea with positive changes to the Yankton County Sheriffs Office.

Preston Crissey has been a leader in law enforcement for many years and he's been involved in building relationships in the community.

Also, Kaverns Pub is also having their famous Ruebens!!
