Some common design elements are saturated colors, high contrast and a sense of balance in the composition. Most of the paintings tell a story or evoke a memory that preserves a sense of place or feeling. Studio is open year round by appointment.

In honor of Indigenous People Day, from my archives, a portrait of Red Cloud. A leader of the Oglala Lakota from 1865 to 1909, he was one of the most capable Native American opponents whom the United States Army faced in the western territories.

IT’S CALLED LAKE ONTARIO

So happy that my painting "Chimney Bluffs Sunset" can be part of this show. See details below.

‘It’s Called Lake Ontario’ gathers an international and local collection of visual artists to share a clear, unified statement about the state of the Lake—one man cannot take what is ours, cannot pit us against our neighbors, and will not rebrand us to fit his dystopic vision of the future.

What’s in a name?
Memory, history, value, understanding, culture, identity.
This is our home. This is our lake. Symbols matter. Names matter.

Lake Ontario matters to us.

Artists and Curators and have gathered fifty artists from around the world from as far as the United Kingdom, Nicaragua, our neighbors on the other side of the shore in Canada and more, along with our neighbors in the midwest states and a great group of local working artists to express this very simple message.

Admission to Frank’s gallery is always free, but we ask visitors to our opening reception to consider bringing uncooked, packaged rice and/or beans to aid the work of artist efforts in supporting immigrants targeted by the Trump administration facing unjust deportation in Rochester.

The show opens Friday, October 2nd from 6-9pm, and will be hanging throughout October at
