Thank you again for joining us at the 64th Annual Sassafras Tea Festival & Civil War Living History this past weekend! We sold 700 delicious homemade pies…but didn’t sell out!

We will be open this week on Thursday 4/30 and Friday 5/1 from 10 AM to 4 PM to sell the pies we have left. Flavors available are spring fruit, apple, and cherry. They were baked fresh and then frozen yesterday and are $15 each. 🥧

The Museum will be closed on Wednesday 4/29 for cleaning.

A wonderful first day of the 64th Annual Sassafras Tea Festival & Civil War Living History! There’s more to come tomorrow, with the Festival continuing from 9 AM to 4 PM. Pies will go fast, so be sure to stop by the Museum early to have your pick. Enjoy a meal, listen to some fantastic local musicians, take a walking tour, and stop by the encampments. 🚍 Thanks to the generosity of the North Vernon Church of the Nazarene, we are excited to offer a free shuttle service for the Sassafras Tea Festival & Civil War Living History again this year!

The shuttle will run Saturday, 4/25 from 10 AM to 3 PM ONLY and will cycle between two stops: 1) downtown Vernon, in the parking lot next to the Jennings County mural and 2) the Muscatatuck Park parking area off of State Road 7.

Look for a blue “Shuttle” flag and the Church of the Nazarene bus to utilize this free service. We hope this will allow more folks to visit without worrying about finding a parking spot close to all the activities!
