Another wonderful addition to the John Nolen Statue in Centennial Park - an original 1926 lamppost that once lit downtown Venice Avenue has been installed behind the statue. The lamppost was sitting in a city warehouse for many years. It had been saved by Earl Midlam, who also arranged to have it fully restored. There is a similar lamppost next to Ole Betsy in the new museum. It was Earl's idea to place this historic artifact at the statue site, and he received the approval from the City Manager and arranged for Venice Public Works to install it.
