Calvin Ellington Saucedo

It is with heavy hearts that we grieve the passing of a beloved local luminary, Calvin Ellington Saucedo, also known to many in our community by his dazzling stage name, Miss Coco Chanel. Calvin passed away in late September, leaving behind a profound void in Vallejo’s cultural and advocacy landscapes.

Calvin was a cornerstone of our local arts scene and a vibrant, joyful presence at the Vallejo Second Friday Artwalk. Whether he was captivating audiences in local drag performances or helping organize breathtaking community celebrations like Día De Los Mu***os and the annual Island of Misfit Toys Holiday Toy Drive, his creativity and warmth brought us all closer together.

As the Vice President of the Solano AIDS Coalition, he worked alongside his partner, Mario Saucedo, to provide care, outreach, and a safe haven for those most vulnerable. His compassion touched countless lives, and his radiant smile could truly light up any room.

We extend our deepest condolences to Mario, Calvin’s family, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. As we continue to celebrate the arts in Vallejo, we will forever remember the color, glamour, and kindness that Calvin brought to our community.

Rest in power, Calvin. You will be deeply missed.

VISITING Artist Sally Sally McFlorez ARTISZEN BAZAAR'S DJ 4 ROBOTZ!

Last Thursday we stopped by to see Sally McFlorez Sally McFlorez super cool outside exhibit at the Tenderloin Art Walk.

We loved seeing his work, hearing his story of coming back to this now closed building that used to be the Larkin Street Youth Services center that he would go to as a teenager, and just getting to know the creative behind the music. We had so much fun!!

We’re also excited to have DJ 4 ROBOTZ bringing the music and good vibes to the Mare Island Art • Fashion • Vintage Bazaar!
