Phoenix Rising 🐦‍🔥
Rising above challenges with strength and hope, Phoenix Rising is a stunning mural by local artist Pete Fala, located on the George Duke Center facing the parking lot at Andrews Park.
This mural was the result of months of planning, sketches, city meetings, and approvals before it came to life.
As Pete shared about the project:
"It was an honor and blessing to do this piece for the community."
Thank you to Pete Fala, the Vacaville Art Gallery, and the City of Vacaville for adding another beautiful piece of public art for everyone to enjoy.
The next time you're at Andrews Park, take a walk over to the George Duke Center and experience Phoenix Rising in person. It's hard to miss, and even harder to forget.
📍 Location: George Duke Center, facing the parking lot at Andrews Park
Have you seen this mural yet? What do you think it represents?

We MIGHT be the only city with a microscope almost as tall as our art gallery! 😆

We MIGHT be the only city with a microscope almost as tall as our art gallery! 😆

Did you know this giant microscope is made from recycled metal?
Standing nearly 16 feet tall outside the Vacaville Art Gallery, this unique sculpture was created by artist Phillip Glashoff using repurposed materials, including old fire extinguishers, a tractor bucket, and other salvaged metal. Installed in 2014, it's a creative reminder that everyday objects can be transformed into extraordinary works of art.
Next time you're visiting the gallery or Andrews Park, stop by and take a closer look. You might even discover a new appreciation for seeing the world through a different lens.
📍 Location: Vacaville Art Gallery, 718 E. Monte Vista Ave.

Juried Art Show Opening Rescheduled

Hello everyone,

After discussing the weather forecast for this weekend, we decided to postpone the Vacaville Art Gallery Juried Art Show Reception until Saturday, August 15, at 6:00 p.m.

With temperatures expected to approach 100°F this weekend, our little gallery house would become very warm, and combined with a full reception, it would be uncomfortable for everyone.

We know this may create a scheduling conflict for some, but we feel it's the best decision for our artists, guests, and volunteers. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to celebrating this wonderful show with you on August 15!

Thank you, Downtown Vacaville for mentioning this joyful piece of art!

Thank you, Downtown Vacaville for mentioning this joyful piece of art!

Tucked along the side of the Vacaville Art Gallery, heading toward Andrews Park, is this colorful little hidden gem. It’s one of those pieces you could easily miss if you don’t slow down and take a stroll through the park.
So next time you’re downtown, wander a little farther, look around the corners, and see what you find. 💕 Downtown Vacaville has art tucked into some of the most unexpected places.

Can hardly wait!!

Can hardly wait!!

We’re excited to announce our upcoming exhibition, Sole Italiano: Una Nuova Storia, exploring the stories, traditions, resilience, and lasting legacy of Italian American communities in Solano County. From immigration journeys to family traditions passed down through generations, this exhibit celebrates the voices and experiences that continue to shape our region today.

Honoring the foundation of our 2020 exhibit and expanding its story for a new chapter, this exhibition invites visitors to reflect on identity, belonging, and the immigrant experience that connects us all. Opening July 24✨
