On May 11, 1977, Governor Dolph Briscoe signed House Concurrent Resolution No. 18 (HCR 18), officially designating chili as the state dish of Texas. 🌶️
The Briscoe-Garner Museum is one of four divisions of the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History, a research unit of The University of Texas at Austin.
