We're throwing it back to 1972, a landmark season that marked the beginning of what would come to be known as NASCAR's "modern era."

The racing schedule was reduced from 48 races to 31, all dirt-track events were removed, and the foundation for today's Cup Series was set. It's safe to say that when this picture was taken, the sport was well on its way to entering a whole new chapter.

It's almost race weekend! The WinCupZone is proud to sponsor Trey Hutchens as he competes this weekend at Bowman Gray Stadium!

A fourth-generation racer from Winston-Salem, Trey has built an impressive career behind the wheel. He began racing quarter midgets at just 11 years old, earning track championships before advancing through the NASCAR ranks. Along the way, he captured NASCAR Southern Modified Tour Rookie of the Year honors, earned back-to-back Most Popular Driver awards, competed in the ARCA Menards Series East, and raced in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Off the track, Trey graduated as valedictorian of his class at NC State with a 4.0 GPA in Mechanical Engineering and now works as a Vehicle Dynamics Software Engineer with General Motors' Motorsports division.

Racing is in Trey's blood. His father, Robert Hutchens Jr., has spent decades making an impact on the sport as a driver, team owner, crew chief, race engineer, and competition leader. The Hutchens family also shares a longtime friendship with Christy and Will Spencer, owners and founders of the Win Cup Museum and WinCupZone--their newest venture featuring high-octane cannabis-infused beverages.

If you're heading to "The Madhouse," be sure to cheer on Trey and keep an eye out for WinCupZone on No. 14.
