We’re happy to share this update on the new roundabout at Camp Ernst Road and Longbranch Road.

The new roundabout at Camp Ernst Road and Longbranch Road is expected to open to through traffic Monday evening, pending weather or construction delays.

The new roundabout is designed to improve safety and help ease congestion, particularly during rush hour. Thank you for your patience throughout construction.

Crews will remain in the area to complete final work, which may require occasional lane closures. Please use caution when driving through the new roundabout and be prepared for delays and traffic pattern changes. Slow down, stay alert and watch for flaggers and crews working in the area.

Need more information or have questions about Spotted Lanternfly? Boone County Cooperative Extension will host a program on Tuesday, August 11th, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Boone County Enrichment Center. Registration is required, but attendance is free. The link to register is in the comments below:

Due to VERY popular demand, Boone County Cooperative Extension will be hosting a Spotted Lanternfly program on August 11th. This class will be taught by Boone County Extension Horticulture Agent Robby Brockman and Extension Entomologist Dr. Johnathan Larson.

A quick note about spotted lanternfly in Northern Kentucky:

Spotted lanternfly has been confirmed in our area since 2023, and the Arboretum and state regulatory authorities are already aware it is here. Routine reports from counties where it is already established are not needed.

Boone County Arboretum is not treating its plant collections specifically for spotted lanternfly. Property owners experiencing significant numbers should consult their county Cooperative Extension office or a qualified tree-care or pest-management professional before treating.

Please also do not remove a tree simply because lanternflies are present. Although invasive tree-of-heaven is an important host, spotted lanternfly feeds on dozens of plant species. Tree-of-heaven is also frequently confused with desirable native trees such as black walnut and hickories, so proper identification is essential before any tree is removed.
