Sea turtle nesting season on Tybee Island is coming to an end, but nests are still hatching and Sea Turtle Project Volunteers are still out there every day ensuring every hatchling is accounted for and every nest is monitored until the last day.
After a few ~wild~ or "undetected" nests were found, Tybee's total # of nests for this year is now 58 👏🏼🏆 we will post a full season summary once all nests have hatched and the season has ended 🐢 It is imperative that island visitors continue to leave the beach clean, dark, and flat for the remainder of the nests to hatch successfully.
We couldn't have asked for a better season 🥰 and are so appreciative of the folks who dedicate their time to protecting these amazing animals!
