Hours are 1:00pm-5:00pm, Mon.-Sat., from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. We are a non-profit organization & operated solely by volunteers. Mortimer Lott & his brother, John Lott were Vigilantes & later, the founders of the town of Twin Bridges:

July 10, 1862 Mortimer H. Lott and a group of companions from Colorado made the first discovery of gold in Beaverhead County at the headwaters of Ruby Creek, a tributary of the Big Hole River south west of Wisdom. They called their discovery Pioneer. This was not a major gold producer and it was soon eclipsed by the discovery of gold at Grasshopper Creek 18 days later. Bannack was soon to be the big city in this area. Mortimer Lott with an unidentified grandchild. TL
