Thanks to the storm, we spent most of our time after arriving at JT, inside- recovering, resting, and reintegrating.

We did actually leave once.. to stop in at a friend’s birthday party Saturday night at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center..

From its collection of Lloyd Wright architecture, to its energy vortices, sculpture gardens, labyrinth, and connections with spiritual teachers such as Ram Dass … it’s a close happy place for us.

We sat in the shade of the jeep until the sun went down.. a warm breeze danced through the trees.

I got up to get a b**r for Jessica and myself and the dog stole my chair..

As an old school stoop girl, I took my place on the rv step.

Watching the last of the sun’s radiant light fade, we remembered it was Friday.

How appropriate.

4 Springs ago we first heard Desert Oracle on the radio driving back to the dry lake bed from the Tiny Pony.

We’ve tuned in almost every Friday that we’ve been in Joshua Tree since then.

30 minutes of intellectually charged sarcasm and wit- a derailing stream of consciousness meandering through local folklore, peculiar histories and obscure stories.
