Snow plant season is coming to an end in Sequoia.. the yuccas are blooming in the canyon and the wildflowers are everywhere right now.

We took a quick drive to Grizzly Falls the other day and to gauge the fury of the Kings River this season. It was roaring- but we’ve seen it roar much louder and faster in previous seasons. Lack of snowpack is to blame.

Nonetheless, we love the drive down the canyon and can’t wait to go back later this season to the swimming hole.

It’s been raining most of the day.. occasional sleet. It’s cold. We’ve been cranking the buddy heater all day.

And just like that… desert dust is exchanged for pine needles..

We arrived at our summer “home” yesterday and have been scurrying like mad to get satellite set up and settled in before things start moving super fast…

Sequoia & Levon are so excited to be back in the forest… Levon has been prancing around chewing on the grass while Sequoia has been glued to the pallets trying to get whatever that smell is.. (probably some mice.)

We have our living and work spaces set up but are enjoying the empty campground while we can.
