The University of Alabama Gallery is pleased to present Jayne Morgan - Honey, I'm Home for its summer exhibition. This show will open this First Friday June 5th to the public. It will be on display from June 5th- September 18th. There will be a public reception September 4th from 5-7pm with the artist.
For more than fifteen years, Jayne Morgan has used the iconic Honeybear bottle as a recurring motif to explore memory, identity, and belonging. In Honey, I’m Home, the familiar Honeybear moves beyond the still life, becoming a vehicle for stories of loss and healing, love and home, and the unexpected sweetness found in everyday moments.
Morgan leads art activities as a volunteer for Children's of Alabama and Unless U, and has served as art director for the Exceptional Foundation. She teaches private art classes for children, and her artwork is the face of the anti-littering campaign in Hoover, AL. She has worked on film and video projects in Los Angeles and in Birmingham. A full time exhibiting painter, she and her husband criss-cross the country as extensive travelers and adventurers.
Morgan has a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia.
