Jeremy Randall Ceramics Studio Potter making work inspired by vernacular architecture, implements, and artifacts.

Familiarity evokes memory and I look to this association to present nostalgia through form. My reference to rural American architecture and antique rural implements places the viewer in a familiar setting which is layered with time, function and history while color creates celebration in these iconic objects. The vessel forms tie these objects back to the domestic space, enriching ones living environment while allowing for quiet contemplation and a reminder of a simpler time.

Hey Everyone! There are still some seats left in my Italy workshop in September. The link is above in my bio, and you should join me on this all inclusive adventure to northern Umbria! We will be working on templates for slab building, talking about and experimenting with surface, exploring terra sigilatta, taking in all of the richness of surface and history around us, not to mention all of the espresso, cornetti, vino, aperol spritz’s, and amazing food that you can handle. We will explore our ideas, processes and the Italian countryside, dive into studio and cultural immersion, and find new ways of building and thinking about pottery! This really will be one to sign up for, so don’t miss out! Ci vediamo presto! Ciao tutti!

New 2019 summer round of classes at Rusty Wheel Pottery will be starting at the beginning of July! Wednesday 7/10, Thursday 7/11 and Friday 7/12 all start sessions for new classes in handbuilding. Check out www.rustywheelpottery/classes-1 for specific times, and email or message for info or to sign up. Bring a friend and spend some time doing something new and making something special in the studio this summer!

Come on out to the studio today for day 2 of the holiday pottery sale and open house. Hot coffee, bourbon and cider (if you prefer) and a bunch of new pots, shapes, and surfaces for your holiday local gift giving.
