Jan and I have spent a lot of time on the Crow rez in Montana. We became family with the Bulltail family. The painted beadwork in this painting is in Crow style. The Crow people believe that their tipis were given to them by the White Owl so out of respect, they usually leave their tipis white as shown here. There is a rough-legged hawk feather on the ground at the right....the Crow call them Winter Hawks since that is when they migrate to that part of the country. The tile 'Partners' comes from the fact that magpies and buffalo often hang together. Oil on 24"x36" galley wrap canvas. This painting is available...please message for any further details.
