Garnet Myers Art of the Southwest Growing up here in the southwest gave me the opportunity to practically live in the outdoors. I practically live on my patio. Each piece of rock is different.

Having rode horses on some local ranches sparked my interest in cowboys and the western lifestyle, becoming my passion. Being a better painter than cowboy, my fascination with the southwest turned into an artist dream. I paint on the sandstone so it can be enjoyed on the patio as well. Of all the surfaces to paint on currently sandstone is the most fun. I will paint the back panel to match that p

iece of sandstone, sometimes I will seal the stone first to bring out natural colors. The image I will paint from extreme color combinations to soft pastel desert colors depending on the rock.
